Reverend Ruth Draffin

The Reverend Ruth was ordained as a Ruling Elder in St. Andrew’s Scarborough, Ontario and subsequently was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacraments in 1994 within the Presbyterian Church in Canada. 

She began her ministry serving the two-point charge of Old St. Andrew’s, Colborne & St. Andrew’s Brighton, Ontario where she served until 2000.  She was then called to The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, Montreal, Quebec, as the Assistant Minister, until she was called to St. John’s Cornwall, Ontario as minister until 2016.  In 2017 she worked with Youth for Christ as the Eastern Counties Executive Director.

Ruth obtained her Bachelors of Theology at Ontario Bible College and her Masters of Divinity with a counselling major at Ontario Theological Seminary (Tyndale University).  She attended York University and Vancouver School of Theology.

Ruth has been an active member of the Presbytery and has served on the Gracefield Christian Camp and Conference Centre Board of Directors, the Animator’s Oversight Committee, the Experimental Fund Committee, the Board of the John Stewart Memorial Trust Fund, the Board of Directors at Tyndale- St. Georges, Montreal. 

Ruth enjoys diving, cycling, canoeing, playing with her new puppy “Banjo”, singing and playing the guitar and mandolin.   

Ruth has enjoyed her first year at Rockland Community Church and is looking forward to what God has planned for her and the congregation as she ministers in Rockland.
